Bone Injection Gun 

Exam for Credit

1. This procedure is for critical ill or injured patients:
a. 6 years old or older
b. 6 years old or younger
c. 10 years old or younger
d. of any age
2. The primary site for this procedure is:
a. Any longbone will do.
b. Anticubital area.
c. Distal femur, midline 2-3 cm above the external condyles.
d. Medially 1-2 cm below the tibial tuberosity (the bony prominence below the knee cap).
3. This procedure should not be done in a:
a. Infants
b. Bone that is fractured.
c. Non - traumatic patient.
d. Respiratory arrest patient
4. The proper depth for the BIG is set by:
a. Rule of thumb - 1 cm per year divided by 2.
b. Dialing the patients age on the barrel of the BIG.
c. Setting the depth is not required
d. Asking Pace.
5. Operating the BIG is done first choosing and cleaning the site, setting the depth, placing the device against the site, pulling the safety and then:
a. Pressing the rear part against the two handles of the housing or by pushing the rear part firmly against the injection site.
b. queezing the barrel until a pop is heard and felt
c. Pressing the housing against the heel until a pop is felt
d. Pressing firmly with the two handles into the site allowing the rear part to inject into your hand.
